The Pioneer Practice tour heads to the South West visiting Falmouth, Looe and Exeter from 20-22 September.
Jonny Baker and Gav Mart will present a mix of stories, music, poetry, conversation. It’s a book tour sharing the themes from Pioneer Practice. If you are a pioneer or interested in pioneering or want to know a bit more about pioneering then do come along. If you don’t know what pioneering is then it’s now been discussed on the Archers so must have landed in our culture at last! But seriously come and find out. A big part of it is meeting people – fellow travellers to share ideas and friendship. If you are anywhere around those parts do come and let others know about it. This is actually the last week of the tour so we will be particularly effervescent I suspect. Though if anyone else is interested we will happily do further dates and come to you – just get in touch.
I was looking through my photos to see what I had of Cornwall and the answer is not a lot. I found this photo from Perranporth of St Piran who was a pioneer for sure and a Cornish Saint. I love the story of his arrival in Cornwall having been thrown of a cliff in Ireland with a mill stone round his neck it floated and he rocked up in Cornwall and of course is the patron saint of surfing amongst other things. That’s my kind of pioneer! What do you mean some of this Celtic stuff sounds a bit fanciful?! But it’s not a great photo so I went with the image above which is from Pioneer Practice which felt kind of Devon/Cornwall for obvious reasons.
