Holy Rumpus in Bath and Wells

Church Mission Society and Bath and Wells Diocese have joined forces to launch a new regional hub, known locally as ‘Holy Rumpus’, to train lay people in pioneering mission.
Holy Rumpus offers the nationally recognised CMS Certificate in Pioneer Mission and is for people looking to develop both their understanding and practice of pioneering mission.
Study is based around six modules, namely: what is pioneer mission?, reading the Bible for context, doing theology, mission spirituality, mission ecclesiology and pioneering in the rural church.

Course leaders are experienced practitioners as well as established speakers and writers on pioneer mission.
Modules run from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime in locations identified as Pioneer Hotspots in the diocese. This enables students to get first hand experience of different pioneer contexts.
The Holy Rumpus pioneer training hub is part of CMS’s growing network of training hubs for lay pioneers that is being developed in partnership with dioceses around the country.
