Presence in the City: Revelations of Divine Love

4 November 2023:10.00am - 4.00pm

A day to explore the transforming possibility of prayerful presence, with reflections on Julian of Norwich by Ian Adams.

The day will include work with a text of scripture, reflections on the gifts of Julian of Norwich, prayer and conversation.

The venue is De Mazenod House – Oblate Retreat Centre London, a few minutes walk from Tower Hill and Aldgate stations.

The city context will give a vibrant outward focus to our seeking of prayerful presence. We plan to visit the worshipping community at the nearby guild church for workers St Katherine Cree at lunchtime to join them for their Spanish-English eucharist.

Ian Adams is Mission Spirituality Lead at CMS. He has long had an interest in Julian of Norwich, and has recently completed a study project on her Revelations of Divine Love.

There are a few rooms available at De Mazenod House for overnight stays at £75 – please contact Fr Ray Warren directly to book: demazenodhouse@oblates.co.uk

Tea and coffee will be provided during the day; there are sandwich shops nearby for lunch.
