Anything is possible – CMS open days and evenings announced

Dates are out now for CMS Oxford Pioneer open days and online open evenings in 2024. If you appreciate attentiveness to context and a missional lens, this could be the study path for you.

We’re excited that CMS Oxford has three new dates for our open days in 2024, plus three dates for online open evenings and also three for African Christianity online open evenings.

Dr Cathy Ross says: “Pioneers are often people who can see or make a way where others might see no way and this is why folk enjoy studying at CMS – they are with others who believe that anything is possible.  All our modules are taught with an attentiveness to context and with a missional lens.”

We are just about to have our graduation ceremony for this year, and are so proud of our students who have studied for awards amid all the other pressures of life.

For many students the path to graduation began with an open day at CMS or an open session on zoom.

Maybe you can be an encourager to a friend who is interested in pioneering, reaching new places and new people for God, and you could suggest the course and our open events to them.

Or you might be thinking of this for yourself, journeying in faith with God, and working your way to a university award, accredited by Durham University.

You may be excited about learning new ways to engage in mission, or you might even be thinking what have I got to offer!

Sheila Akomiah-Conteh, our newest team member is based in Scotland, originally from Ghana, and lived in The Gambia for over a decade too. She encouragingly told me, “Where there is need, no gift is too small, too great, or unnecessary. As long as the mission of God is incomplete, we must be open to discern, accept and make way for new expressions of mission and worship.”

Either way, we’d love you to get in touch and discuss more with us.

One of our current MA students told me: “Right from the induction day, I knew I had landed!”

And she also said, this month, “Two and half months in, and I’m looking at my context with completely different eyes.”

Our awards, in Theology, Ministry and Mission, are accredited by Durham University. You can join us for a one year Certificate or PG Certificate in person or online; a two year Diploma or BA in person, or PG Certificate, Diploma, or MA fully on line with an African Christianity route available.

We have a lot of experience in training pioneers to use their gifts, especially the gift of not fitting in.

Ordinands in the Church of England can train with us. We work through a partnership with Ripon College Cuddesdon. We can even offer an optional tour of Ripon College Cuddesdon to all those who are interested in Ordinand training with us.
