What’s new? Open Day on Tuesday 27 July and more…

CMS Oxford Pioneer Open day – Tuesday 27 July 2021, 1.00-2.30pm via zoom

We’ve been providing Pioneer training for over 10 years now and every year there are new innovations and new things to talk about.  This year we have the African Christian Diaspora MA, as well as the Pioneer MA in Theology Ministry and Mission. And both our MAs are now available online. We are also offering online undergraduate modules.

In these last couple of years, we’ve started running open days on zoom, and are pleased to be including one more open day before the next academic year. This is an additional session on zoom – Tuesday 27 July 2021, 1.00-2.30pm via zoom.

If you book on, we will send out information before the session, and direct you to some inspiring short video clips. On zoom there’ll be the chance to chat, share stories and listen to others on their journeys. In zoom we use breakout rooms to better connect and answer questions.

This year we have extended our application deadline to 8 September, so it’s not too late to start engaging with us for this September.

We train anyone including ordinands in the Church of England, and work through a partnership with Ripon College Cuddesdon for ordinands. If you are exploring that path, you may like to explore with us (even if you are not a designated pioneer, you can train with us).

We’ve also been organising some DDO days on zoom, and have three dates for this coming academic year – 19 Oct 2021, 9 Feb and 3 May 2022; all from 1-2.30pm via zoom.  We will explain how our training works, DDOs will hear from a Pioneer Ordinand, and we hope to give the DDOs a little input from a guest speaker as well – nothing too demanding!

Many of our students are already pioneering and doing a number of exciting things before they come to us. So, there are always lots of great stories to hear.

Our awards, in Theology, Ministry and Mission, are accredited by Durham University. You can join us for a one year Certificate up to a three year MA. We even have options for a DTh in connection with Roehampton University.

Please do pass on this information to those who are already pioneering, as well as those just starting out. Our community is wide; we are a place that is welcoming to those with a broad experience of pioneering  as well as those just beginning.

So, why not find new ways of using your gifts, especially the gift of not fitting in. Join us for our open day session or email for more info. Wherever you are on your journey, find out what’s new with ours.

Booking essential. If you think we might be your type of place, please email Pioneer@churchmissionsociety.org

If you cannot make the open day, just email to ask how you can engage this coming academic year.
