I am delighted to let you all know that I have a new book out Pioneer Practice

It is practical wisdom that we have gleaned over the last decade or so through training and encouraging pioneers at CMS. It has articles on things like money, time, team, spiritual direction, dealing with the powers that be. Part of my motivation for writing was that I wanted to celebrate and share what we have learned over a decade at CMS. It’s a different sort of book to anything else I have written – it is full colour and short articles rather than chapters. It’s a very direct sort of speech. The idea is you can dive in anywhere like a coffee table book. It looks terrific – I am so pleased with what Jon, the designer has done. You can see some sample pages on the web site. It’s a mix of stories, research, conversations, articles pulled together and written by me with lots of other contributors too most of whom have trained with us at CMS or been part of the team.

It is now available to buy and we can ship anywhere in the world. You can get it through GETsidetracked. I have self-published it to keep the cost as low as possible. It’s perfect for someone who has an idea of starting a pioneering project or fresh expression of church or is trying to work out what God has called them to. There’s loads there for any pioneer to be honest. I have already had people get copies for their team so they can reflect on it together.

There is a book launch next Thursday 10 June 8pm. Inevitably it is on zoom but do come along and celebrate from the comfort of your own home. You can register here and will then get sent the zoom link.

There is also an online workshop/webinar on July 8 on getting started so if there is someone you know at that stage do point them in the direction of that. Places are limited to 25 for that one and it costs £10. Register here.
