Let’s be honest, pioneering remains a mystery to many. Lots of people have lots of questions about pioneer mission and ministry. What do you mean by pioneering? Aren’t we all supposed to be pioneers? What do pioneers actually do?

Thankfully, there are a growing number of people who want to support pioneers, speak up for the importance of the pioneer gift, and encourage people they know who might have this gift. They may be asking questions like: how can we encourage and support lay pioneer ministry? How do I best support and encourage a pioneer in my congregation? And how are we going to resource pioneer ministry now and in the future?

The Pioneer team at CMS have drawn up a list of these frequently asked questions about pioneer ministry. The new FAQ page represents our best answers to these questions and more, including questions on ordained pioneer ministry and how you can be recognised as a lay pioneer in the Church of England.
