How Did We Get Here?

The Pioneer Mission Leadership Training hasn’t just landed out of the blue as the latest good idea from CMS – it’s been brewing for a while!

Lots of people imagine that mission, perhaps especially for CMS, is something that happens elsewhere in the world in places like Sudan or India. But actually we have been involved in mission in Britain for around 30 years recognising that the UK is as much a mission context and a challenge as any where else in the world. Download CMS Journey for a personal reflection from Jonny Baker on the last ten years engagement in mission in Britain in the emerging culture. This was written in the summer of 2009 just before really getting stuck into dreaming and developing plans for the pioneer mission leadership training. But without that previous ten years engagement what we are doing now simply doesn’t make much sense! It’s a longish read so grab a coffee or beer and make yourself comfortable.

Jonny blogged about it in two parts at the time – changes part 1 and changes part 2. Part 2 was really the announcement that CMS was going to get involved in Pioneer Mission Leadership Training in a new way. And well here we are!
