Anita Matthews

Anita completed the MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission at CMS in 2019, and is currently associate minister at St Peter's in the City, Derby. Prior to that she worked at CMS as community mission facilitator, having previously been a school chaplain in Derby and a curate in North London. St Peter's is involved in supporting refugees and asylum seekers, those struggling with poverty and debt, and a mentoring community for ex-offenders. It is also the base for Derby City Centre Chaplaincy, offering workplace and community chaplaincy in many sectors including retail, GP surgeries, schools and the arts. She also oversees the ecumenical churches link between Derbyshire and the Church of North India, and is a trustee of the Friends of Calcutta Cathedral Relief Service UK, working to support health, education and women's empowerment in the slum areas.
