Quality time reconnecting our life with the life of the Spirit through nature, community and ritual. This is a guided journey, in the beauty of the Lake District, with hiking, dipping, fires and feasting
This weekend at Rydal, near Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District, is an invitation to step back from the busyness of life and be ministered to by the natural world and a small community of fellow pilgrims. We’ll explore together the Art of Listening, ‘Opening our eyes’ and connecting with nature; reflecting on how this informs our roles as pioneers; leaving us inspired for the return to our everyday lives.
The weekend will provide nourishment for body, mind and soul with quality food to fuel activities such as fell walking, scrambling, and wild swimming, drawn together with light input and reflective practices.
Because of the nature of this retreat, participants will need to be physically able to cross uneven terrain and spend much of a day out in the fells – but don’t worry, it isn’t a Boot Camp, and you don’t need to be a mountain goat!
Participants will also need to provide clothing and equipment including a sleeping bag (just for indoor use), waterproofs and footwear suitable for a day on rocky and potentially wet ground. We may be able to provide some kit, so if this is a limiting factor for you, please get in touch.
Likewise, if cost means you feel unable to join us, please get in touch as we have a small bursary that could support you.
Accommodation is in a bunkhouse with dormitory bedrooms, so it’s basic but warm, clean and with a real mattress!
