Exploring a real difference – CMS Oxford Pioneer Open Days 2022

We’re excited at CMS Oxford that we have three dates for our Open Days in 2022, one via zoom and two at our CMS office in Oxford, with zoom options available for those as well.

  • Wed 27 April 2022, online via zoom 5.30pm to 6.45pm (booking confirming when you receive the link)
  • Tue 24 May 2022, 10am to 1pm, coffee at the start and a bagged lunch provided
  • Tue 21 June 2022, 10.30am to 1pm, coffee at the start and a bagged lunch provided

We are different from other courses, and we hope that difference makes a real contribution to your time with us.

We’ve just had our graduation. We are so proud of our students who have studied for awards during a pandemic. That journey to the graduation began, for most of our students, with an open day at CMS or on zoom. Perhaps it started earlier with a friend suggesting the course. You may be reading this and thinking you could be that person on a journey to a university award, or you could be the friend helping someone else on that journey. Either way, we’d love you to get in touch and discuss more with us.

One of our current undergraduate intake told me: “I went to the open day not really knowing what I was hoping for, and not wanting a glossy brochure presentation. What I found was a group of thoughtful, honest and welcoming people trying to help my discerning and give a flavour of life with CMS. I really liked the ethos of listening to each other and helping each other unpick their contexts.”

It’s really encouraging to know that those who come to our open days see a real difference in what we do.

So, why not join us for an open day. Here is what to expect in advance and on the day…

We will send out information before the open day session, including directing you to some inspiring short video clips.

Whether you are on the zoom call or at CMS house in person, there’ll be the chance to:

  • chat
  • share stories
  • listen to others on their journeys
  • find out what may be right for you

We use breakout rooms to enable people to have the opportunity to connect with others on zoom. We’ll be there for you to ask any questions of members of the CMS Pioneer team.

Our awards, in Theology, Ministry and Mission, are accredited by Durham University. You can join us for a one year Certificate or PG Certificate; a two year Diploma or PG Diploma; or a BA or MA. We also now offer the chance to study the MA wholly on line and offer an exciting new route through the MA, which focuses on the African Christian Diaspora.

We have a lot of experience in training pioneers to use their gifts, especially the gift of not fitting in.

Ordinands in the Church of England can train with us. We work through a partnership with Ripon College Cuddesdon. If you are on that journey you may like to explore this with us (even if you are not a designated pioneer, you can train with us).

Whatever you are doing right now, if your heart is for pioneering, please do make contact. Together, we can help you explore your vision and see if we may be a part of your future.

Booking essential. If you think we might be your type of place, please email Pioneer@churchmissionsociety.org
