Creative Conversations is a new initiative for those interested in understanding more about the way in which Christian mission engages with communities who experience deprivation and exclusion.
There are two opportunities for a person (or small team) to be involved in launching this project by participating in the convening of a series of conversations and producing audio recordings from which they will seek to develop deeper insight into the experiences of marginalisation and to carry out theological reflection on those understandings.
Each successful applicant will be awarded a grant of £1,000.
The research will take place over a six month period starting from April 2015 onwards and will involve producing between five and eight audio recordings, each of a different conversation. Each conversation will involve two or three people (not interview style) and the recording will be edited to between five to 10 minutes. Some initial analysis of the conversations will be written up and presented along with the recording itself on a website for wider reflection.
Creative Conversations is a joint project by Urban Life and CMS Pioneer Leadership Training and sponsored by Common Awards Research Network, Durham University.
